Making Space
Sometimes it’s important to pause and stand still for a moment. In the rush of modern life, we so often forget how to slow down. Recovering from Long Covid, I’ve come to understand the importance of making space for what really matters to me. My art practice is one of those things. A sense of quiet is another.
This exhibition is shaped by my connection to both. It offers a glimpse into my creative process, while also inviting the viewer to slow down and simply be present as they connect with the work.
Exploring my interest in materials, colour and surface, this new work also draws on restorative time spent in France. There, the light is softer and the warmth offers comfort. I find time to wander and notice, to be more aware. That space - for reflection, for calmness - has sparked a quiet shift in my practice and informed the direction of this exhibition.
