Around the Kitchen Table: Collage for Christmas

A creative day making a collection of personal and unique Christmas cards and tags.
This will be a small group of only four people.
How the day will unfold
A cuppa, some inspiration and a little Christmas sparkle
We’ll start with tea, coffee and some inspiration, looking at colour, pattern and materials to create your own Christmas palette. Keep your colours traditional or give Christmas your own spin, whatever you choose you’ll have lots of different materials to explore.
Make your own collage papers
In the morning we’ll get printing with a gelli plate, creating layers of colour and pattern on tissue, paper and fabric. We’ll experiment and overprint to build up a selection of unique collage papers to work with.
In the afternoon, we’ll bring our printed papers together with organza, found papers, metallic details and other embellishments to create a collection of handmade Christmas cards and tags. You can keep things simple and understated or go all out with colour and sparkle!
Time to eat, chat and take a breather
We’ll break for lunch. You can either bring your own or pop to our village shop and café for a takeaway sandwich or salad. I’ll keep you topped up with tea and coffee throughout the day.
A creative day to get you ready for Christmas
By the end of our day together, you’ll have a collection of unique hand-made cards and tags ready for Christmas, as well as a stash of your own printed papers to keep making with.
And you'll have spent a relaxing and sociable day around the kitchen table, enjoying some time to be creative in the busy run-up to Christmas.
Where will the day take place?
I live in a beautiful, small village called Culmstock in Devon.
It’s 10 minutes from junction 27 of the M5 and 15 minutes from Junction 26.
Half an hour from Taunton or Exeter.
I will send exact address and parking details once you have made a booking.
What do I need to bring?
Just an apron, some lunch and your creative enthusiasm. I’ll provide all the materials and teas and coffees.
What if I need to cancel?
I understand that sometimes things happen that we can’t control. If you cancel more than 14 days before the event, you will receive a full refund. After that, refunds cannot be guaranteed, but if your place can be filled from the waitlist, a refund will be offered. Places may also be transferred to a friend
